We are an Alaskan non-profit organization with the goal of improving our nation's substance use crisis, all while supporting and empowering those that have been impacted by substance use in some way.
We hold an annual community awareness campaign to encourage open public discussion about the realities of substance use and the things that come with it. We also help to connect people to a wealth of resources relevant to their situation and/or area, if applicable. By engaging a wide range of communities, we provide support across the entire state of Alaska and beyond.
We work with the administration of local Alaskan high schools to provide more realistic and age-appropriate education on substance use in our communities. As part of this, we worked with faculty members at Johns Hopkins University to develop our own substance use curriculum, which we have implemented in various schools throughout the state.
The June Group sponsors an annual scholarship fund, which invites students currently enrolled in high school and eligible colleges to apply for up to $2,500 in grant funding to be applied towards tuition-related expenses. All awarded funds will be sent directly to the educational institution, and applications are open from August to October each year.
